~Flow is constantly streaming live audio, and sending regular data updates to the web about the activity in the River Tyne.
The audio feed is the live mix onboard ~Flow, combining the sounds created by the Owl Project instruments, with sounds from microphones placed on and around the structure.
~Flow data is broadcast via the The Owl Project Data Log, which takes regular river water samples, and tests them for oxygen, acidity, nitrates and salinity. The Data Log also tests wheel speed, and sends all this information to Pachube.
As part of the creative programme, leading data visualisation artists Moritz Stefaner and Stephan Thiel are working with the ~Flow data to produce a new piece of work, for exhibition at FutureEverything, and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.
If other artists are interested in working with the data - please get in touch.
